Citroën dévoile AMI ONE CONCEPT au Salon de Genève 2019.
BORN CITROËN
Since 1919, Citroën’s history has always reflected its times with non-conformist and revolutionary vehicles that have become icons. At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Citroën is unveiling its approach to urban mobility, which it intends to make accessible for everyone.
Citroën Ami One Concept is Citroën’s take on freedom in the city: #LibertyElectriCityMobility! It combines all the advantages of 100% electric technology with a bold and colourful design and complete ease in use and scores top marks on comfort and practicality. Accessible without a licence, Ami One Concept responds to all types of uses “à la carte”, from carsharing to rental.
Thus, and as the being at its time the 2 CV could, AMI ONE CONCEPT preaches freedom of movement for all and carries in him all the potential of an urban and popular icon.
®UNIQUE
AMI ONE CONCEPT boasts a cube-shaped body and ultra-compact dimensions (2.50 m long, 1.50 m wide and 1.50 m high), lending an impression of robustness, agility and outstanding manoeuvrability. Made for the city, it is also accompanied by protections to the 4 corners of the body. Markers of style, these Airbump® integrate specific colour Out Of the Blue.
Modern, Ami One Concept adopts an expressive front-side sublimated by an elegant luminous signature in Y which reminds that of the CXperience concept. The DRLs and indicators lend a touch of finesse with their floating structure. The Clockwork Orange body paint and the 2D logo on the centre of the lacquered black surface invigorate the vehicle’s gaze.
INTELLIGENT
Ami One Concept features an intelligent design with symmetrical parts, including identical doors on the right and left with inverted opening mechanisms (rear-hinged on the driver’s side) and the same components on the front and rear ends, lower bumpers, wings and rocker panels.
It also has reversible right / left rear lights, while the four parts making up the door mirrors and door handles, involve different assembly directions.
Another distinctive feature is the open-top configuration. The manually-opening roof is in Anthracite Grey canvas. The hood slides and folds in a single movement.
LICENCE-FREE
Ami One Concept offers freedom in use and addresses urban customers with or without a driving licence. It is accessible to everyone from the age of 16 (14 in France). Citroën has created Ami One Concept as an alternative to public transport and other individual means of transport (two-wheelers).
100% ELECTRIC
Ami One Concept is 100% electric, for environmental respect and reduced cost in use. It reaches a top speed of 45 km/h without emitting CO2. It has a range of 100 km, perfect for urban journeys. Plugged into a public charging station or Wallbox, Ami One Concept charges easily in two hours via its electric cable.
Silent, Ami One Concept is also safe for the exterior environment thanks to its distinctive sound signature. Under European regulation introduced on 1 January 2019, all electric vehicles must emit an artificial sound to warn pedestrians of their approach.
DIGITAL
Ami One Concept is a 100% connected object in which the smartphone is central to the man-machine interface. Customers access Ami One Concept using their smartphones. The doors lock and unlock via a QR code on the aluminium base of the door handles. With the handset stored in its special area, the dialogue between Ami One Concept and the driver may begin. The selected app is displayed in bubble form, projected in the driver’s field of vision as with a head-up display system. Drivers can access their personal space and a range of services via their smartphone. Ami One Concept has two buttons on the steering wheel: a voice command for calling the assistant and a drop-down app menu.
To the right of the Drive POD, a cylinder houses the start button and the automatic gearbox selector.
NEW CONSUMPTION MODES
Ami One Concept is a connected object that takes things further by proposing new consumption modes. With the dedicated app, customers can choose from several carsharing or rental options with a portal of corresponding services (charging, parking space search, etc.). It thus meets all the travel needs of customers by responding to their different types of use (one-off or regular). With the app, customers can enjoy Ami One Concept and adjust the period of use at any time, commitment-free and all-inclusive.
Customisable to meet each person’s mobility needs, the carsharing and rental offers include rental for five minutes or five hours (via Free2Move), five days (Citroën Rent&Smile), five months (short term), and a five-year leasing option (long term).
PRACTICAL
The cabin is agreeably spacious and strong on functionality. The driver’s seat (on rails) and the passenger seat (fixed) are laid out asymmetrically for greater space and ease of movement. The storage spaces are ingeniously designed, making maximum use of every corner of the cabin.
On the passenger side, Ami One Concept has a storage area sized for a cabin bag or handbag. At the rear, a platform accessed via the folding driver’s seat can be used for occasional luggage created specially for Ami One Concept by Damien Beal.
